Warren Street tube station

Warren Street is a London Underground station, located at the intersection of Tottenham Court Road and Euston Road, named after Warren Street. It is on the branch of the Northern line, between and , and the Victoria line between and Euston. It is in Travelcard Zone 1 and is the nearest tube station to University College Hospital, being opposite the newly opened main building. It is also very close to on the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines, which is at the other side of the hospital building.
==History==
The station opened as part of the original Charing Cross, Euston & Hampstead Railway on 22 June 1907 under the name "Euston Road", and this name can still be seen in the Northern line platform tiling. The platforms were built on the outside of the running lines. The station's name changed to "Warren Street" the following year. In 1934, the current station building replaced the original when escalators were installed. The Victoria line platforms opened on 1 December 1968. As part of introducing automatic ticket gates with the Victoria line, the ability to freely interchange with Euston Square station was withdrawn on 1 March 1969.
At the next station northwards, Euston, there is cross-platform interchange between the Northbound Victoria line and Northbound Northern line (Bank branch); and Southbound Victoria line and Southbound Northern line (Bank branch). To facilitate this, the Victoria line tracks had to switch from the standard left-hand running to right-hand, making the cross-platform interchange in reality in opposite directions, as both lines run east-west at this point. Warren Street also has right-hand running due to its proximity to Euston. The Victoria line platforms at King's Cross St. Pancras (the next station on from Euston) also displays this feature for the same reason.
Due to the right-hand running on the Victoria line and the Northern line having side platforms, the doors open on the left on all four platforms.
The Northern line northbound platform of the station was used for location filming in the movie Death Line (1972)
On 27 April 2012 Warren Street station became the first London Underground Wi-Fi enabled tube station.〔http://www.digitalspy.com/tech/news/a385792/london-kings-cross-and-warren-street-tube-stations-get-free-wifi.html#~oNIDiAKsDpBqDr〕
